Nature Among Forests and Protected Areas
Parque Ecológico do Matão comprises about 63,000 m² of preserved forest in a transition zone between the Atlantic Forest and the Cerrado. Another natural attraction is Parque Natural da Cachoeira Vereador José Fortunato Viana, also known as Parque Natural da Cachoeira da Chave. It is considered one of Votorantim’s most important natural tourist attractions. In December 2024, a new entrance, renovated restrooms and flooring to make it easier for visitors to get around were reported at the park. Art and Historical Heritage
Museu Histórico de Votorantim Ettore Marangoni houses more than 30 works by the artist Ettore Marangoni. The art collection is therefore a distinct cultural highlight alongside the natural sites. Capela de Nossa Senhora da Penha offers a different perspective on the city’s history: it is part of Votorantim’s religious historical and cultural heritage. Visitors who want to focus on cultural themes can consider art and religious heritage as distinct interests when planning their trip.
Festival Program and Suitable Travel Dates
Corrida São João was part of the closing program of the Festa Junina Beneficente de Votorantim for its 2026 edition. Another date reference is the 105th Festa Junina: described as a traditional event, it took place from May 25 to June 19, 2022, at Praça Lecy de Campos. These dates refer to the 2022 edition.
