Manduri combines a distinctive forest landscape with a local festival tradition. Its natural attractions include the Floresta Estadual de Manduri, also known as Horto Florestal, and the Trilha do Bugio. Culturally, the celebrations marking the town’s anniversary are part of the annual events calendar. You can therefore choose whether to focus your trip on a nature trail or a stay centred around a celebration.
Forest Landscape and Trilha do Bugio
The Floresta Estadual de Manduri covers 1,485 hectares. Of this area, 1,035 hectares are planted with pine and eucalyptus, and 450 hectares are native forest. This breakdown shows that the area includes both planted forest and native woodland. Howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, capybaras, ocelots, pampas deer and pumas have been recorded in the forest. The area figures give the vegetation a concrete profile, while the named species make its wildlife tangible.
The Trilha do Bugio is located in the Floresta de Manduri. It is an easy, self-guided trail of up to 500 metres, with a walking time of one to one and a half hours. When planning your time, it is worth considering the distance and walking time together rather than using the route length alone as a guide. Information boards and signs identifying plant species also provide a specific focus on the plant life. The route includes a staircase with 103 steps and a bridge over the source of the Carreiro. Alongside its rating as an easy trail, the steps and bridge are practical points to consider when assessing the route for yourself.
Celebrations and Past Event Dates
The celebrations marking Manduri’s town anniversary are a traditional cultural event and part of the annual events calendar. Separately, the XXIII FAPIMAN was an agricultural fair and the 23rd Festa do Peão de Manduri. It took place from 24 to 27 November 2022 at the Isidoro Achile Costa exhibition grounds and returned after a ten-year break. One specific past event was the XXIII FAPIMAN, an agricultural fair and the 23rd Festa do Peão de Manduri. It took place from 24 to 27 November 2022 at the Isidoro Achile Costa exhibition grounds and returned after a ten-year break.
Events at Lago Municipal
For the first Manduri Rock Fest, on 6 and 7 September 2024, stalls, food trucks and trailers selling food and drinks were planned along the waterfront promenade of Lago Municipal Benedito Reinaldo de Castro. A municipal report from 2020 also described a multipurpose building for culture, sport and leisure on the lakeshore, which was then nearing completion; a public toilet for users of the recreation area was under construction nearby. If you are making specific plans for the lakeshore, check the current status of these facilities before travelling.
Find a Holiday Rental Based on Your Trip
When looking for a holiday rental in Manduri, you can start with the reason for your trip. Nature enthusiasts will find a clear focus in the forest and on the Trilha do Bugio, while those interested in culture can plan their stay around the annual town anniversary celebrations or a confirmed festival date. The trail’s walking time is a concrete part of your schedule.
