Boa Vista offers a range of options for planning your visits: outdoor and sports activities, green spaces, a viewpoint, as well as live performances, architecture and gastronomy. You can organize your visits according to whether outdoor activity, a cultural event, a view or a gastronomic occasion is your priority. The parks also differ considerably: alongside spaces offering several sports, there is a park focused on biodiversity conservation with cycling paths, as well as a riverside park with an urban-designed beach.
Green spaces and outdoor activities
Complexo Ayrton Senna is an open-air area for recreation and sports. It offers opportunities for running, tennis, skateboarding and volleyball, as well as playgrounds, snack stands, fountains and a reflecting pool. The complex brings together different forms of exercise and leisure in one place.
Bosque dos Papagaios has a different focus: the park is dedicated to protecting and preserving Amazonian biodiversity, and visitors can cycle along its paths. According to the opening hours published on January 14, 2026, the park is open Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., except on public holidays and days when it is closed. On Saturdays and Sundays, the hours are 8 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Operating information may change; check the opening hours before your visit.
The extensive areas of Parque do Rio Branco offer recreation and sports. There is also a bicycle parking area, a reflecting pool, fountains and an urban-designed beach on the Rio Branco. Orla Taumanan is connected to the park and is divided into two platforms with kiosks: the lower Weikepá has three kiosks, while the upper Meiremê has two. The areas described therefore differ in specific ways: the Orla is organized around its platforms and kiosks, while the park also includes sports and recreation areas as well as the beach.
Parque Germano Augusto Sampaio has volleyball and soccer courts, BMX and skate tracks, an amphitheater, green spaces, a lagoon, a pier, snack stands, a promenade and parking. Praça do Mirandinha is a green space for picnics, celebrations and photos; it also has sports courts and kiosks. If you are planning a celebration, check the applicable permit rules in advance, as they may change.
Culture, views and gastronomy
Mirante Edileusa Loz opened in 2020, is 120 meters high and is considered the highest viewpoint in Boa Vista and the Northern Region. The Feirinha de Artesanato e Gastronomia takes place in front of Mirante Edileusa LĂłz throughout the year on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. According to a municipal notice dated March 22, 2026, this weekly schedule applies; check the date before your trip. This makes it possible to plan a visit to the Feirinha specifically around the days mentioned.
Teatro Municipal de Boa Vista has three halls and hosts operas, plays and musicals, among other events. Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora do Carmo offers a different cultural focus: it is a historic landmark of Boa Vista and the only church in the Amazon region built in the Germanic style. Stage performances and a building with a distinctive architectural classification thus offer different cultural interests.
