Getting there from Paraty
From Paraty, take the BR 101 (Rio-Santos) toward Ubatuba as far as the Patrimônio turnoff, which is 16 km away. From there, an approximately 6 km paved road leads to the town of Trindade. The drive is therefore divided into the stretch along the BR 101 to the turnoff and the section that follows to Trindade. There is also a regular bus service between Paraty and the town of Trindade. If you plan to travel by bus, check the specific timetable before your trip; if driving, the Patrimônio turnoff and the road that follows can serve as separate reference points.
Folia de Reis and when to travel
In the community of Trindade, Folia de Reis is traditionally celebrated every year on December 26 and January 6. The birth of Christ is announced from house to house through music. The two dates fall on either side of the turn of the year, giving your travel plans a specific cultural focus.
