The Antiesen divides Sankt Martin Im Innkreis into the districts of Diesseits and Jenseits. The town is also situated in hilly country on the western slope of the TroĂźkolmwald in the Antiesental valley. The river, districts and hillside setting provide distinctive landmarks for finding your way around; you will also encounter the names Diesseits and Jenseits on the local hiking trails.

Church, Judenstein and Calvary

The Catholic parish church of St. Martin in Diesseits was probably built before 1084. It is protected under Austrian monument protection law; the relevant regulation came into force on 15 April 2008. The Judenstein on the southern church wall is dated 17 April 1294. Thus, the parish church brings together a cautiously dated early construction history and a specific medieval memorial site.

A lovely avenue leads from the town centre to the Calvary Church. The family crypt of the Counts of Arco Valley is located along this avenue. In Sankt Martin Im Innkreis, the R23 Antiesen Cycle Path passes the Stations of the Cross on Calvary. Those interested in local church history will find another named point of interest at Calvary, in addition to the parish church.

Castle history and park

The present-day Sankt Martin Im Innkreis Castle, also known as Arco-Zinneberg Castle, is the fifth castle or palace to have stood on this site. Reconstruction was completed in 1726, giving the castle its present-day Baroque appearance. The castle has a large park. The castle itself is not open to the public.

Hiking trails and parkour

Two colour-coded trails with different stated destinations are described for hiking: the green trail goes through Jenseits and Koblstadt to Utzenaich. The yellow trail passes through Diesseits, Sindhöring or Karchham and continues to Senftenbach. You can choose a route based on its intermediate places and destination.

The Parkour Park is another local activity. The parkour club planned and built its own Parkour Park in 2021. The park hosts an annual Jam & Contest, which has usually become an established fixture in August in recent years. The event provides a seasonal reference point if you would like to plan your visit around this theme.

Getting here and dates

Sankt Martin Im Innkreis has a railway station on the Attnang-Puchheim–Schärding line. If you are travelling by train, check the timetables for your travel date. For road travel, the Ort im Innkreis interchange on the A8 Innkreis motorway is a useful landmark; it is about two kilometres from Sankt Martin Im Innkreis.

The traditional St. Martiner Kirtag takes place on WeiĂźensonntag. In 2026, it fell on 12 April. As the date changes each year, check the date for your travel year. Along with the architectural and landscape features described as year-round attractions, the Kirtag provides an additional seasonal reference point for planning.
