The grounds of Rogner Bad Blumau cover 420,000 m² and invite you to go for walks. The 13-hectare thermal spa park connects the spa with the town centre; its pond complex features distinctive bays and stone walls. This brings together an extensive walking area and a park with a landscaped water feature. If you would like to combine your stay with some exercise, you can consider whether the size of the grounds, the park as a connecting route or a named trail is the deciding factor.

Circular trails with different highlights

The Speilbrunnerweg focuses on a circular route, offering many beautiful views of the idyllic scenery of the Thermen- & Vulkanland region. The Thermenrundweg is signposted for hikers and cyclists in both directions. The Hundertwassertour starts on the main road near the church at an elevation of 284 m, while the Safentalweg starts in Bad Blumau. The trails therefore differ in their orientation: scenic views, signposting in both directions, or a named starting point. These features can help you choose a type of route that suits your interests.

Another local circuit is the “Zukunft spazierendenken” experiential trail. Its 11 walk-through stations are connected by a circular route through the town of Bad Blumau, the thermal spa park and Rogner Bad Blumau. If you would like to include several stations in one loop, this trail offers a distinct focus. By contrast, the 1,000-year-old oak in the district of Bierbaum is a single natural attraction; it is considered one of the oldest oaks in Europe and can be reached via the Bad Blumauer circular hiking trail 3 or cycle path FF8. This puts a station-filled circular route alongside a visit to a notable tree as two different ways to explore the area.

Art and local history

The Water Goddess is a plant sculpture by artist André Heller, created in honour of his late friend and fellow artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. The parish church of St Sebastian was built in 1702/1703 and is dedicated to the Roman officer and martyr Sebastian. The cultural attractions thus range from an artistic tribute to a sacred building with its own history and dedication. These points of interest add art and history to walks and routes.

Guided tours and courses for groups

The group activities vary in theme and size. By prior arrangement, Rauers Vitaminreich offers guided tours of its organic vegetable and sprout cultivation for groups of 5 or more. At Schwalbenhof, groups of 5 to 20 people can book garden tours; cooking and baking courses are offered for groups of up to 7. When planning, you can match your group size to your preferred activity: cultivation, a garden tour, or a cooking and baking course. It is advisable to check the availability of each activity before travelling.
