Manjimup offers several different ways to shape your stay: at Manjimup Heritage Park, bushland, walking trails and historical exhibits come together; the Deanmill Heritage Trail follows a former railway line through bushland and agricultural areas. The Power Up Electricity Museum focuses on the development and impact of electricity. This gives you a choice of nature, historic buildings and an interactive museum theme when planning your trip – each attraction has its own focus.

Manjimup Heritage Park: Nature and history

Manjimup Heritage Park covers 12 hectares and features museums, natural bushland, historical exhibits and walking trails. This mix brings nature and history together in one park. As you plan, you can consider which part you would like to focus on: the bushland trails, the exhibits or the historic buildings.

Flora and Fauna: a seasonal highlight

In the Flora and Fauna area, a walking trail leads through native bushland. Depending on the season, visitors can discover different trees, flowers and animals there. From August to November, at least 30 native wildflower species can be found. If wildflowers are important to your trip planning, this period offers a specific seasonal guide. The attraction also includes more than flowers: trees and animals are among the discoveries that vary with the seasons.

Historic Hamlet and adventure playground

The Historic Hamlet features replica buildings as well as some that have been relocated intact. These include a police station, a jail and a school. The variety of building types gives the park’s historical area its own focus, distinct from the nature trails and exhibits.

The adventure playground adds a 17-metre-high lookout platform and a slide. These provide further clearly defined attractions within the park. Together with the Historic Hamlet and the Flora and Fauna area, they let you shape your visit around the themes that interest you most.

Deanmill Heritage Trail: a route between two towns

The Deanmill Heritage Trail follows a former railway line that has been converted into a multi-use trail. The route passes through bushland and agricultural areas, starting in Manjimup and ending in Deanmill. It forms part of the Munda Biddi Trail. At 5.5 kilometres one way, it connects Giblett Street in Manjimup with Ipsen Street in Deanmill.

For planning purposes, it is important to note that the stated 5.5 kilometres is the one-way distance. The trail offers a different way to explore than Heritage Park: rather than visiting several attractions in one place, you follow a route from Manjimup to Deanmill. Check the latest trail information and surface conditions before setting out, as these can change.

Electricity at the Power Up Electricity Museum

The Power Up Electricity Museum in Manjimup explores the development and impact of electricity. Exhibits and activities that visitors can take part in add to the experience. Unlike the nature trails and historic buildings at Heritage Park, the focus here is electricity. Manjimup therefore offers a variety of subjects to explore, without combining nature, local history and technology into a single visitor experience.
