Jardín América can be explored through two distinct themes: the waterfall landscape of the Saltos del Tabay and a calendar of events spread across several seasons. Your trip planning can therefore start with a natural attraction, a specific festival or the Sunday cultural offerings. If you have a particular date in mind, you can compare the recurring timeframes with your own travel dates; if you are mainly looking for scenery, the Saltos offer a clearly defined natural attraction.

Waterfalls and forest landscape

The Saltos del Tabay are a series of waterfalls and stepped pools in the Paraná forest landscape. There, the water cascades over basalt rocks covered in lush vegetation. The combination of waterfalls, pools, rock and greenery makes the landscape more than just a single waterfall scene. The Saltos are also the venue for two seasonal events: the Fiesta Provincial del Turista in summer and the Vía Crucis de la Selva during Semana Santa. You can therefore visit the natural attraction independently of a festival or plan your trip around one of these special dates.

Festivals at different times of year

The Fiesta Provincial del Turista is held annually in summer on the grounds of the Saltos del Tabay. The exact dates may vary.

During Semana Santa, the Vía Crucis de la Selva takes place at the Saltos del Tabay. The event follows the site’s nature trails and depicts the fourteen Stations of the Passion of Christ. Since the dates of Semana Santa change each year, you should take the specific date into account if you are planning your trip around this tradition.

The Akimatsuri takes place in Jardín América in April. The program includes traditional Eisa dances from Okinawa, Taiko drumming by the local Ryujin Daiko group, Yosakoi and typical Japanese food. The festival is open to the entire community; the exact event date may vary. The program’s varied offerings make Akimatsuri an occasion where dance, drumming and Japanese food come together.

The Fiesta Provincial del Caburé is held annually in Jardín América in June. A provincial law passed in 2025 established the permanent venue and the date in June. Together, these events are spread from the beginning of the year through June; when planning your trip, it is therefore important to distinguish between a recurring timeframe and a specific event date.

Sunday program and cultural offerings

The traditional Domingos Culturales take place on Sundays at Plaza Colón. Musicians, artisans and local business owners are part of the program. If your stay includes a Sunday, the plaza is a specific place to experience the city’s cultural offerings.

The Casa de la Cultura organizes exhibitions, workshops, performances and community gatherings in Jardín América. Alongside the recurring Sunday program at the plaza, this provides several different cultural formats. The two offerings differ mainly in their setting: the Domingos Culturales are tied to Sundays at Plaza Colón, while the Casa de la Cultura organizes several types of events.

Road connections for orientation

There are two road connections to distinguish when finding your way around the road network. Jardín América is on Ruta Nacional 12, the main route connecting Posadas and Puerto Iguazú. Ruta Provincial No. 7, by contrast, connects Jardín América’s town center with Ruta Nacional 14. RN 12 places the town on the route between the two cities mentioned; RP 7 specifically describes the connection from the town center to RN 14. This distinction helps you tell the two road connections apart when locating Jardín América by its routes.
