Lago San Roque forms the eastern boundary of Villa Parque Síquiman, while the Las Catas and Las Mojarras streams run through the town. Local attractions range from watersports on the lake to stream landscapes and views of the lake. When planning your trip, you can consider the lake and stream landscapes as separate themes, alongside the festivals held on fixed dates.

Water, Streams and Lake Views

Sailing, kayaking and canoeing are popular at Playa Lago San Roque. Bahía del Arroyo Las Catas serves as a natural port of call for numerous sailboats and motorboats. Balneario La Olla offers a different kind of waterside landscape: a stream forms natural pools there, framed by low sierras. Arroyo Las Mojarras flows into Lago San Roque and offers visitors opportunities to relax and unwind among rocks and sand.

The lookout in the Las Moradas residential area is a natural viewing balcony overlooking the landscape of Lago San Roque. Each place has a distinct focus: Playa is centered on the three watersports, while Bahía is a port of call for sailboats and motorboats. La Olla is known for its natural pools among low sierras, while Arroyo Las Mojarras offers relaxation among rocks and sand. You can choose between sports, landscape features and opportunities to unwind.

Festivals on Different Dates

Two annual festivals provide different timing options for planning. The Fiesta Provincial del Pejerrey takes place every year in October or November. The celebration in honor of the patron saint San Pedro Pescador takes place every year on June 29 at dusk, with a large bonfire. It is one of the town’s well-known jineteadas and gaucho festivals. For planning purposes, this means there is a window in October or November, as well as a fixed date in June. If a festival is the reason for your trip, check the exact event date in advance.

Chapels and the Regional Setting

The San Pedro Pescador Chapel shares its name with the patron saint honored at the festival and is considered a place of peace and spirituality amid nature. The Nuestra Señora de Fátima Chapel is a mandatory stop on Villa Parque Síquiman’s religious circuit.

In the wider destination of Departamento Punilla, there are five major reservoirs where visitors can fish; sailing and motorized watersports are also possible on these reservoirs. At 1,979 meters, Cerro Uritorco is the highest point in northern Punilla. Quebrada del Condorito National Park is located partly in Departamento Punilla. Its V-shaped gorge is 800 meters high and 1,500 meters wide at its broadest point; Andean condors can be observed from its upper rims. The Camino de los Artesanos also connects Villa Giardino and La Cumbre in Departamento Punilla along a nine-kilometer route. These regional landscapes and waters provide a broader setting than the specific local attractions in Villa Parque Síquiman.
