San Francisco offers several distinct ways to shape your stay: social and natural history at the Archivo Gráfico y Museo Histórico, science and astronomy at the Tecnoteca, and active pursuits with San Fco en Bici or along Paseo Cervantes. You can choose the focus of your trip based on whether you prefer exhibitions, technology-related topics or outdoor activities.

History and a regional perspective

Since 1996, the Fundación Archivo Gráfico y Museo Histórico has worked to recover, preserve, organize, exhibit, research and share elements of the lives of earlier generations in San Francisco. The halls of the Archivo Gráfico y Museo Histórico present the social and natural history of San Francisco and the region through selected exhibits and photographic panels. This means the focus is not solely on exhibitions: preservation, organization and research are also part of its mission. Its scope extends from San Francisco to the wider region, and from social to natural history.

Science, technology and the planetarium

The Tecnoteca San Francisco is a municipal space for innovation, science and technology, intended to bring knowledge and digital tools closer to the entire community. Educational activities include guided tours of its facilities and technical resources. The Planetarium is located at the heart of the Tecnoteca; it introduces astronomy and also serves as a cultural leisure space with educational and entertainment programs. Its hemispherical dome is about 7.5 meters in size and accommodates about 40 people. The distinction is useful when choosing: the Tecnoteca offers a broader mix of innovation, science and technology, while the Planetarium focuses specifically on astronomy and cultural programs.

Exploring San Francisco by bike and on foot

San Fco en Bici is a bicycle-sharing system for residents and visitors, with stations in various neighborhoods. Its stations are connected by an urban bike-path network spanning more than eight kilometers. Each person can use a bicycle for a maximum of 60 minutes. These figures refer to different things: the kilometers describe the network, while the 60 minutes are the maximum usage time per person. Paseo Cervantes is an extensive route along an avenue and is well suited to long walks. Those who prefer to get around on foot will find a distinct option here alongside the bicycle system.

Another cultural highlight

In its first exhibition cycle of 2025, the Centro Cultural presented four visual arts exhibitions. This cycle offers a different focus from the museum halls: those center on social and natural history, while this one showcases visual arts as part of a clearly identified program year. The two offer distinct ways to experience culture in San Francisco.
