Vicente López combines a public riverside promenade with a continuous cycling path, sports areas and cultural attractions. Paseo de la Costa is the main focus for a stay by the river; museums, historic buildings and natural attractions in the surrounding area offer a different perspective. When choosing where to stay, consider whether cycling and activity by the water or culture and scenery are more important to you.

By the river: Paseo de la Costa

The riverside promenade runs from Hipólito Yrigoyen to General Paz. Paseo de la Costa also has a continuous cycling path: it is 2.5 kilometers long and runs from Zufriategui to Yrigoyen.

The areas along Paseo de la Costa include facilities for volleyball, soccer, tennis, table tennis, calisthenics and BMX. This brings together different ways to stay active by the river. A bird observatory adds an opportunity for birdwatching, so there is also a dedicated way to enjoy nature alongside cycling and sports.

Paseo de la Costa is accessible by car, motorcycle, bicycle, on foot, and by train or bus. If you plan to travel by train or bus, check the connections before setting out.

Architecture and history in Vicente López

The Museo de la Fundación Rómulo Raggio is located in the city of Vicente López. Its main building is a French Neoclassical palace that has been declared of municipal cultural interest. For directions on foot, there is a specific route: from Vicente López station on the Mitre line, walk three blocks west along Melo Street, then half a block south along Gaspar Campos Street. Check the conditions at the station before setting out.

The history of Michael Ham Memorial College also begins with a home at Gaspar Campos 517. In 1923, Michael Ham and Ana María Lynch donated the house to establish a religious, bilingual educational institution. This offers a different perspective on local history from the riverside promenade: the focus here is on the founding of an institution and the history of the house, rather than a recreational activity by the river.

Nature and culture in the surrounding area

In La Lucila, in the area around Vicente López, Reserva Ecológica Vicente López offers 900 meters of trails through grassland, Tala woodland, riparian forest, a willow stand, marshland and lagoon. The reserve also organizes guided tours and birdwatching trips. If you are interested in a tour or trip, check the dates in advance.

In Florida, Quinta Trabucco is a cultural center and a significant green space where free cultural activities are held for local residents. Its history dates back to around 1939, when Ana Vigliano, wife of José Antonio Trabucco, donated the estate to the Municipality of Vicente López for public use and enjoyment. If you are interested in a particular cultural offering, check its schedule.

Another view of nature awaits in the surrounding area from Torre Ader, which stands 42.30 meters high and offers a sweeping panoramic view of the Río de la Plata and neighboring municipalities. In Munro, Museo Lumiton combines an exhibition on the history of the studios with screening rooms for film series, gatherings and live music. Both places broaden the options beyond the riverside, while offering a different focus.

Cine Teatro York also tells a story of changing cultural uses: it opened on February 22, 1910, as Cine Teatro Olivos, was first called Select in the 1930s, and later became Cine Teatro York. Today, the building is part of the Cultural Secretariat of the Municipality of Vicente López, and various activities are held there.
